We've been talking to Daniel about last year's harvest and the 2018 vintage of Wilder Satz:

Last year we experienced a very hot summer, with temperatures soaring to over 35 degrees in July and August. This lead to the grapes ripening far quicker than expected. The 2018 harvest for Wilder Satz had to happen in a flash, as the grapes were all ripening at the same time.
We've had over 25 staff working 7 days a week for 4 weeks. It was manic, but really worth it. The quality of the of the Muller Thurgau grapes was exceptionally good, pretty much without any rot. The difference between this and last year's blend is that this year's one doesn't include the Scheurebe grapes. The early harvest of Muller Thurgau meant more acidity, which was then balanced out with Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Kerner and Riesling grapes. The result is a fresh and lemonade like juice, perfect for summer.”
